Weathering the future
NOTE: Read like a news/documentary video to get the effect I intended.
Katrina, Rita, Karen, Melissa, Hanna – these are not names of hot girls but the names given to some of the deadliest hurricanes in the past couple of years. Why have most hurricanes been named after women? Perhaps the meteoroligists took the saying seriously – Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Our climate has been changing over these past few decades, and I don’t mean the summer to winter season changes of the year. No, I’m talking about the coldness in summer and the snowless winters, which is slowly turning the whole world into one big San Francisco. Some say this is because of the ice caps melting, others say its because we’re not polluting enough, while still others say that it’s because the ocean is under too much pressure. But whatever the change is, it looks like we might end up moving to Africa or become extinct.
As environmentalists say, the way to avoid climate change is to use renewable energy, but where to get that energy from is a different matter.
Perhaps the climate change is just a natural shift, maybe the best source of renewable energy is a simple candle, perhaps the best way to sustain life is to grow your own food… but that’s not dramatic enough, so probably isnt possible.
